GP survey results- 2021
- 84% of patients surveyed said they found it easy to get through to the Practice by phone (compared to local average 64% and national average of 68%)
- 83% were satisfied with appointment times (compared with 68% locally and 67% nationally)
- 80% were offered a choice of appointment (compared with 68% locally and 69% nationally)
The Practice team is thrilled with these figures and has worked hard to ensure appointment access for patients is fit for Purpose. Various strategies have been employed including increasing the number of same day appointment slots for acute issues with the clinical Partner providing wrap around care for patients requiring more of an ‘out of hours service’ such as working patients, Nursing home patients and those deemed terminally ill. The result of this is that virtually all of the demand for same day appointments is met which is no mean feat. The Practice is not complacent with these findings however and are utilising online methods to expand the methods and timeframes in which patients can contact the Practice thereby hopefully making it even easier for patients to telephone the surgery when they require to speak to somebody.
The next challenge as the Practice is now securing a high calibre of sessional GP’s is to ensure that routine and advanced appointments are offered in the same manner so that we can provide continuity of care as standard.
