Ordering medication for new patients

Where possible we would ask patients to ensure they have enough medication for at least a week so that we have chance to get the patient in for a new patient medical as well as a new patient medication review with the GP. We appreciate that this isn't always possible and we will always do what we can to make sure that patients don't go without their medication.

When registering with us patients are asked to bring in their repeat slips from their previous GP so that we can see what medication they are currently taking. In addition we ask all new patients to fill in a patient contract that states what we offer as a service, what we expect from patients and also that patients on medications that are linked to dependency will be reviewed on a regular basis in view of reducing them down on certain medications. For more information regarding this please speak with one of the healthcare team who will explain this process in more detail.
